Belted Galloway Cattle from Antietam Farm
Antietam Farm was started in
1997 by Jeff and Lisa Lovett. We are located in Northwestern Illinois,
halfway between Dixon and Oregon.
We have been very active in the breed for many years. Jeff Lovett
is currently the president of the Great
Lakes Belted Galloway Association and his wife Lisa
is currently a director on the national board of the Belted
Galloway Society.
We liked many qualities of the Belted Galloway. They
are easy keepers, good mothers, naturally polled and produce wonderful
lean meat.
Our goal has been to raise quality cattle that perform in the show
ring and in the pasture. We strive for correct cattle with gentle
temperaments that make them easy to live with. All our cattle have
more than five generations clean pedigrees.
You are always welcome to stop by and see our cattle. Just give
us a call! |

Breeding Stock
- Antietam Farm specializes in consistently providing top quality
Belted Galloway breeding stock - whether that be for the show
ring or the hobby farmer. Quality is defined in terms of superb confirmation
of the animals by using only the best genetics available throughout
the world. The second part of quality deals with the temperament,
attitudes and behavior of the animals. It is critical that animals
not only look good, but are easy to handle and deal with on a daily
basis. Bull Semen - We have Belted Galloway Bull semen
available from two of our bulls, one of which was "2004 Sire
of the Year".
